PhoneBoard
Making Life Simpler
Making Life Simpler
We are a company sprung up in frustration, we are students who wanted to provide a simpler way to use our phones. With a background in engineering and partners from the city of Calgary, you can count on us to provide the most efficient and cost-friendly product on the market. The amount of times that we have had to hold phones in our hands for an extended period of time or when we are driving and just wish we could hang our phones to use for directions is endless. We are focused on not just making our lives easier, but the lives of each and every individual who goes through the same problems.
A completely recyclable and modular phone case which could work as both a stand or a phone holder in your car. The product is made from recycled cardboard from the City of Calgary, reducing waste in the environment and making use of it at the same time. The product is also fully customizable with the ability to draw and paint right on the product itself, which is great for kids and for parents who would like to spend some more time with their children.
Our product has a wide range of potential customers, anyone with a phone could make full use of it. It is great for students who may not have the extra cash to spend on multiple expensive accessories and want a cheap and reliable product for their needs. Drivers would also make good use of our product by using their phone’s built-in GPS rather than spend a lot of money buying a separate unit and updating it after a period of time. Our offering is great for children as they spend a lot of time watching videos on phones and our product would allow them to have a customizable phone case with a stand to help them use their phones. It would also allow the parents to spend more time with their children by taking the time to paint and color the cases with them.
Being made out of cardboard, our product is great for the environment and also very cheap. No matter the individual, PhoneBoard will save them money by cutting down on the number of accessories and making the one accessory much cheaper. All our materials are taken directly from the City of Calgary, which means that when you buy our product, you are helping your local community in recycling as well.
Partnering up with the City of Calgary as an exclusive customer in all cardboard materials gathered from around the city, we can provide you with a product that is locally manufactured and that would ensure that it makes a difference in your direct local community. Our team is focused on making the planet a better and more sustainable place to live and recycling is a small but very impactful way of doing so.
There are cases made from cardboard and there are phone holders made of cardboard out there, but none have the ability to do both. There are also cases and accessories which are cheap but use plastic which we stay away from as the production of plastic would be detrimental to the environment. None of the products mentioned are locally manufactured and use local recycled materials like our company.
Students everywhere struggle with keeping on top of their expenses and like any product which would save them money. PhoneBoard promises to provide a cheap alternative to the expensive accessories most students resort to. The modularity that comes with our product will also eliminate the need to buy multiple separate accessories further saving time and money.
Our second key person is a driver. Drivers everywhere have used a GPS at some point in their lives. The need to buy a separate GPS unit and update it after a period of time is costly and time consuming. We will provide them with a cheaper and more practical product in the shape of a simple phone holder. This will save them money and because it is made completely from local recycled materials, it helps their community as well.
Children use phones to watch videos and shows all the time. Most kids also love to paint and color as much as they can and their parents would love to see them stop using their phones for a little while and just paint. PhoneBoard allows for both of those activities, providing a stand for your phone to watch videos and also being able to customize the case with paints and colors.

This is a great idea. However cardboards are water resistant, not water proof so once wet, it will never be the same. For rough use plastic is a better choice.

The idea to make a two in one product is cost reducing and time reducing. It would work well for drivers and student.
For children however cardboard might not be the best option. Cardboard will not be very durable for children. The product will be destroyed within a few days.
While using cardboard is helpful for the environment it won’t be for the consumer since cardboard products don’t last very long and they are harder to clean in case when a drink spills on it.

As phones are used regularly, cardboard is not the best material to use as phones must withstand all types of conditions. Even though cardboard is not as durable as plastic, the low cost allows users to easily replace the product. The cost also allows users to multiple PhoneBoards to customize with their children.
