When traveling in areas with poor service and while on roam, their phones drain quickly, and sometimes cold weather conditions could make this even worse.

The way of generation is absolutely fascinated by people who love spinning, which is always accessible and available whenever you want to waste time.

Moreover, emergencies happen and people have no way to predict them such as meeting with earthquake, and things could be severe at that time with a dead phone.

Our Pitch

The Key Personas and the Value They See

Our first key persona

Solo-Hikers (Hilary #hiker)

They care because: Many people actively engaged in hiking often only go out for one day, and quite often, the phone will loose power quickly while searching for signals. When hiking for a short period of time, one might not want to bring an external device, nor have an external source charged.

Our promise to them is: The case offers both power and physical protection; practical for day hiking.

Our second key persona

Frequent Short-trip Travelers (Travis #traveler)

They care because: While wandering in a new city, or visiting a site out of town, sometimes simply borrowing a charger is not always an option, nor is accessibility to power in some places. While traveling, one may not want to carry additional cables (chargers), or external devices, as this can be inconvenient.

Our promise to them is: The case will be made smooth and sleek, and lite. This will make having it attached to your phone less of a hassle and a preferred option.

Our third key persona

Disaster suffers (Dave #suffer)

They care because: Living in certain places throughout North America, annual severe storms are not uncommon and knock out power for days. During these times, being able to call for help and  keeping in contact with loved ones is critical.

For people live in areas with high risk of nature disasters and disaster survivors, it won’t be a good condition with a dead phone with less chances to contact with others or ask for help.

Our promise to them is: The case will be made smooth and sleek, and lite. The case will be able to generate power by your own hands when “the lights go out”.

If this product was properly designed, I would totally use it.
First question for you guys though: if this comes attached to a smartphone, are you providing cases for all phone types? I have an S6, and often times it is difficult to get a phone case for my older version of phone.
Secondly, I would like to point out that when I go hiking, I am carrying a day-bag, and usually have my phone in a pocket. As a women, pants don’t generally have the right size pockets to fit practically anything into. My phone barely fits, and so if I had this additional thing attached, I would need to carry it in the bag, making it less accessible for things like taking photos. Similarly for when I travel, space is at a premium. Also, are there any concerns with carrying it onto a plane, or going through the machines at security?
    Is it waterproof?

I think the story is good, and your customer is clear. Your personas make it clear that the substitutes don’t offer the same functionality and portability that your product does.
Showing a pretotype that demonstrates how the phone spins to charge the phone would be beneficial to help the audience imagine how the product works. It doesn’t even have to charge, just spin.

This charger is really helpfull when you are travelling a remote location where you don’t have access to the electricity ports. This device would also prove as helpfull when you want longer battery life from you phone. By using this device, most of the peoe could help the gain more of the battery life.

First of all, a great pitch, well presented solution. I would totally buy it as I am an outdoor person.
However, my question would be how feasible would it be if it something attached to the phone in different weather conditions, so if it rains, which it usually does in Canada during the Spring and Summer, how would I be able to use this product and charge my phone while hiking.
Secondly I am certain, it has great value, but what would be your price point, how much would you sell it for ?
Thirdly, I think it would be better if you also mention in your pitch how different it is from the alternative portable charger, sometimes they are half the size of the phones and much easy to carry around..

The design is very good and the idea is very unique. It would be very helpful for audiences if the team can show the actual prototype and demonstrate it works during the pitch.

First of all idea is very bright and i would love to use it if it gets designed.
Also i don’t know if you guys already considered this but what are your measures if phone is fully charged and i still keeping rotating it ? Will it still charge my phone or its gonna have check that if phone is fully charged you somehow stop it from charging the phone. I wouldn’t want to tamper with phone battery unnecessarily.

your design is relatively distinctive, but i feel that your design is not a kind of future design, you should be more technological.

Love this idea! I’m an avid hiker and often go on overnight treks, and making sure I have some amount of charge left on my phone is pretty critical, particularly at the end of a hike. 10 minutes seems like a long time to get 10% charge, it’d be great if that could be reduced (largely for emergency situations).

I think this kind of technology was being used in the flashlight but not the phone charger so it is fairly new.
But I don’t think it is costly to imitate. And how long can the energy generated by the dynamo support the phone?

I like the idea of your groups. for me, I always forget to charge my phone and power bank. And in china, it is not available to charge anywhere and anytime I want. I think I really need a product like this.

Nice collaboration between the two pitch makers. Easily to tell who your customers are and when this product would be required by the detailed and graphical story. The pretty clear interpretation on value proposition and how this stuff works. The interested parties would offer a strong support for your guys’ financial. However, only small piece of work that I personally expect to see some more is what the price you decide to set, how much it is going to need from creating this tech to manufacturing, and whether some other people would be your rivals on competing this market.
Just keep it, and better it. No doubt your guys have good job!

I always have problem of charging. For example, when both my power bank and my phone run out, I can charge without limitation of charging station.
