Our Idea

Who are we?

I am a student from China who has experienced a difficult time in doing exercises for hard problems and preparing for countless exams.

What are we offering?

I am offering a smart tool made of cardboard in order to help students put their pens.

Who are we offering it to?

For students sitting and studying in the classroom, with many notes to take and endless papers to finish.

For workers who need different types of pens to work, and want to save their time and increase the safety.

For workers who will use different types of pens or tools to work and want to save the space on their desk.

Why does that person care?

For Chinese students, they are having really heavy studying pressure. They usually take 10 courses per day and they need to finish more than 3 papers every day. So they need different color pens to take notes and they have to replace their refills very frequently. However, there is no space for them to put a pen container on the desk, and looking for a new pen in the pencil box which is buried deeply in their bag will take a lot of time. Using my Pen4U, they can easily find a available pen whenever the pen runs out.

Our distinctive competencies

It saves precious space on a student’s desk. A pencil box will occupy such a huge space of the desk and if you have an available pen at hands, the pencil box is useless on the desk.

It also increase the safety of your pens. If your pencil box falls to the ground with many pens in it, all the pens could get damaged. But using my Pen4U, you don’t have to worry about pens will fall.

It will save time for you to look for the pen you want. If you have many colors of pen, you can not put all of them on the desk, when taking notes you have to look for them in your bag. If you have to replace the refills of your pens, it will also take time to look for them in the bag, which may cause you miss the important lectures and notes. My product will help reduce this time.

The substitutes & alternatives

Pen container: which will occupy a lot of space of the desk surface, besides it is easily to fall because students desk won’t be put beside a wall. No Chinese students will use a pen container on their desk.

Pencil Box: It will also occupy the space of desk surface. If you put it in the drawer of the desk, it will also take time to look for you pen you want.

Nothing: just put the pen you need on the desk. Chinese students need many color-pens to take notes and putting pens on the desk is easily to knock them of.

Our first key person

Our first key person are students sitting and studying in the classroom.

They care because they have to take many notes and finish many papers every day. Their desk space is limited but they need a lot of pens or refills for taking notes.

Our promise to them is that they can find the pen they want in a second and it will not occupy the space on the desk, besides there is no worry about knocking the pens down to the ground.

Our second key person

Our second key person are workers who need different types of pens to work, and want to save their time to find them.

They care because they need to change their pens for noting or making markers, our product will save a lot of time for them to find the pens they want.

Our promise to them is that they can find the pen they want in a second and it can contain different types of pens in it.

Our third key person

Our third key person are workers who will use different types of pens or tools to work and want to save the space on their desk.

They care because too many pens or tools putting on their desk may seem in a mess. They want the tools and pens to be put in an order.

Our promise to them is that they can find the pen or tool they want in front of him and it will not make his desk in a mess. It is convenient and no need for them to spend time looking for the tool he wants.

    The targeting customer is pretty obvious and it really help with the problem it mentions.
    The producer has relative experience and there is no existing substitutes in the market.
    However, it is really easy to be imitated. So there is no much more competencies.

    This product reveals Chinese students’ true need. But I’m wondering whether students are more and more using computers or pads recently.
    There should be a considerable market for this product.
    Chris should try to come up with some ideas to protect this innovation, maybe applying for a patent will help.

    I believe the customers are reachable and this product can help with their problems. There is no similar product to substitute this Pen4U. It’s reasonable to develope this as a real product but there should be some real distinctive points to differentiate it with other offerings.
