Cardwork
Do what you need to do, anywhere.
Do what you need to do, anywhere.
My background is in engineering and my passion is in the arts. I love to create, inspire, and help others do the same.
We are offering a solution that enables a person to work anywhere they wish. When you live in conditions where proper study spaces don’t exist, this is for you.
Cardwork is a portable, light weight, foldable table and chair set. It is made completely from cardboard and is very economical.
This is for anyone who needs desk space to do their work. Those who wish to work and study wherever they need to, but a student in a low income country cannot afford proper furniture for their work. I want to start with Bangladeshi students in small villages, this is where I was born and feel is a good place to begin.
This will give people an extra option. When all you want to do is sit down and hit the books but there is no where to sit comfortably, this is what will help you achieve that immediate setting.
Since I’m a student I have the inner view of why this is important. As an engineer, I have the problem solving tools to be able to implement such a solution as well. Connections within charitable organizations can help me get to those who truly need this product. Also, I was born in Bangladesh so I have many contacts there and know the country well.
There are some niche retailers of cardboard furniture, though their products are much more architectural. Because of that their prices are quite high ranging above hundreds of dollars for one piece.
There are also DIY solutions as well though not everyone has the means to take the time to engage in such a time consuming process.
In lower income countries, the alternatives might include sitting on the floor or using your own lap as desk space.
Our first key person is Stacy, she is a student at the U of C.
She wants to make a difference and she wonders how she can. Introduce her to CardWork, a simple solution to a huge problem for a lot of people in lower income countries. Especially younger children. She will join the team and spread the word for CardWork.
Perhaps she loves it so much she would like to own one as well!
Our second key person is Ana the student in a lower income country.
They care because they don’t have proper furniture where they live. Proper sitting arrangements are difficult to find.
Our promise to them is a suitable place to study where they can sit down and conduct their work in an organized space.
Our third key person is Henry, he is a working with a foreign aid company in a lower income country at a school.
They care because they want to provide their students with proper tools for success. This includes the right study space.
Our promise to them is providing sturdy, portable, and economical desk space for their students.
